With the needs of 460 million rehabilitation people, rehabilitation aids face a huge blue ocean market

With the official entry into the era of negative population growth, the problem of population aging has become more and more significant. In the field of medical health and elderly care, the demand for rehabilitation medical robots will continue to grow, and in the future rehabilitation robots may even replace the functions of rehabilitation therapists

Rehabilitation robots rank second in the market share of medical robots, second only to surgical robots, and are high-end rehabilitation medical technologies developed in recent years.

Rehabilitation robots can be divided into two types: auxiliary and therapeutic. Among them, auxiliary rehabilitation robots are mainly used to help patients, the elderly, and disabled people better adapt to daily life and work, and partially compensate for their weakened functions, while therapeutic rehabilitation robots are Mainly to restore some functions of the patient.

Judging from the current clinical effects, rehabilitation robots can comprehensively reduce the workload of rehabilitation practitioners and improve treatment efficiency and accuracy. Relying on a series of intelligent technologies, rehabilitation robots can also promote the active participation of patients, objectively evaluate the intensity, time and effect of rehabilitation training training, and make rehabilitation treatment more systematic and standardized.

In China, the "Robot +" Application Action Implementation Plan issued by 17 departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology directly pointed out that it is necessary to accelerate the application of robots in the fields of medical health and elderly care, and actively promote the application verification of elderly care robots in elderly care service scenarios. At the same time, it also encourages relevant experimental bases in the field of elderly care to use robot applications as an important part of experimental demonstrations, and to develop and promote technology to help the elderly, new technologies, new products and new models. Research and formulate standards and specifications for the application of robotics to help the elderly and the disabled, promote the integration of robots into different scenarios and key areas of elderly care services, and improve the level of intelligence in elderly care services.

Compared with western developed countries, China's rehabilitation robot industry started relatively late, and it has only gradually risen since 2017. After more than five years of development, my country's rehabilitation robots have been widely used in rehabilitation nursing, prosthetics and rehabilitation treatment. Data show that the compound annual growth rate of my country's rehabilitation robot industry has reached 57.5% in the past five years.

In the long run, rehabilitation robots are an important driving force to effectively fill the gap between the supply and demand of doctors and patients and comprehensively promote the digital upgrading of the medical rehabilitation industry. As my country's aging population continues to accelerate and the number of patients with chronic diseases increases year by year, the huge demand for rehabilitation medical services and rehabilitation medical equipment is promoting the rapid development of the local rehabilitation robot industry.

Under the catalysis of huge rehabilitation needs and policies, the robot industry will focus more on market demand, accelerate large-scale application, and usher in another period of rapid development.
